What happens when a Website Studio payment doesn't go through, how long your Studio is kept, the $25 late fee, and how Pay now reopens it.

What happens if my payment doesn't go through?
It depends how soon it's paid. When a plan payment fails, Stripe tries your card again and your Studio is paused, with everything in it kept. Plan & billing shows exactly what's owed: the overdue amount plus a $25 late fee once the Studio is paused. Press Pay now, enter a card, and the Studio opens again on its own within minutes. If it stays unpaid for 30 days after the first failed payment, the plan ends and the Studio is deleted with its files. A failed on-demand charge alone never pauses it.
What happens, step by step
A payment doesn't go through
Usually an expired card or a bank decline. Stripe tries the card again over the following days.
Your Studio is paused
While the plan payment is past due, your Studio is paused: the crew stops and the Studio's address stops answering. Everything in it is kept just as it was. We email the account owner with the amount and a Pay now button.
Needs you: pay what's owedYou pay on Plan & billing
Sign in at account.lenexa.ai. The card shows Overdue, Late fee and Total before you pay. Press Pay now, enter a card on the next page, and it's charged the total. That card becomes the one on file.
Your Studio opens again
Within a few minutes, on its own. We email you when it's open.

If the payment goes through on Stripe's own retry before the Studio is paused, there's no late fee.
After 30 days
If it's still unpaid 30 days after the first failed payment, the plan ends and the Studio is deleted, along with its files. Your published sites stay on your hosting. Plan & billing shows the date.
If you'd rather cancel
Press Cancel my plan next to Pay now on Plan & billing, then Yes, cancel my plan. Your plan ends right away and you won't be charged anything more: we drop what's overdue, and there's no late fee. Your Studio stays paused and is deleted, along with its files, shortly after. Your published sites stay live on your own hosting. We email you to confirm.
If the card is declined again
Plan & billing says "That card was declined. Try another card." Press Pay now again and use a different card. Nothing is charged until a card goes through.
On-demand charges
A failed on-demand charge on its own doesn't pause your Studio. After three failed on-demand charges, on-demand turns itself off. See on-demand credits.

Yes. Nothing is deleted while it's paused, for up to 30 days after the first failed payment.
